This little gizmo which plugs into the headphone jack of your iPhone turns the smartphone into a universal TV remote control.
The ST-URB1 from Satechi also transforms your iPad into a remote control and it costs $25 from the company’s website.
To make it work you need to download Satechi’s free RemoteBean app from the App Store and enter a special activation code when prompted.
Satechi said: “The app will guide you through each room in your house, allowing you to program virtually any device that comes with a remote control. With a simple, easy-to-use interface, the ST-URB1 will simplify your life and eliminate the need for any additional remote controls.
“The RemoteBean app contains a database of all major manufacturers and tens of thousands of products. If your device is not in the database already, you can teach the app to control these devices via the learning function adapter.”
