Today the Wall Street Journal has exclusively reported that Apple and its manufacturing partners are currently testing both larger iPhone and iPad displays for its future models. According to the report Apple have been testing a 13-inch iPad model and an iPhone model with a display larger than the current 4-inch model.
The report then goes on to report that the larger iPad model would be called the “iPad Maxi” and would launch in early 2014. It is also reported to be targeting the Ultrabook market and the likes of Microsoft’s Surface tablet which is already facing stiff competition from Apple’s current generation iPad.
